Paneer Masala

Paneer masala is a rich & creamy curry made with paneer, spices, onions, and tomatoes

Serves: 4

Ingredients
  • Paneer-Cubed –500g
  • Oil (Sunflower or personal own) – 3 to 4 tbsp
  • Onion – 1 large
  • Garlic – 1 tbsp
  • Ginger – ½ tbsp
  • Sashi’s Paneer Masala – 1 Heaped tbsp (Add more to taste if desired)
  • Salt – 1 tsp (Adjust to taste)
  • Turmeric – ½ tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
  • Passata Sauce (⅓ box of 500g carton or ½ tin of chopped tomatoes)
  • Double Cream – 2 tbsp (Optional)
  • Fresh Coriander– 4 to 5 springs chopped (Optional)
Cooking Method
  1. First, add paneer into the pan and lightly shallow fry until golden and leave aside
  2. In the same pan with the remaining oil add the finely chopped onions and cook for 10-15 minutes mixing until soft on a medium to low heat. Add more oil if required
  3. Add garlic, ginger, Sashi’s Paneer Masala, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric, and mix in with the onions for 2-3 minutes
  4. Now add the Passata or tinned tomatoes into the pan and mix well on a medium heat for 2-3 minutes or until oil rises on top
  5. Next add the paneer pieces into the mixture and mix well
  6. Add 1 cup of water, mix and simmer on a medium to low heat with the lid for 10 mins. Add more water if desired
  7. Add the cream and sprinkle coriander before serving

  • Serve with Chapatis/Naan bread and or Rice
